A brief story about the Lord Subramanya
Surapadma, a demon, was causing problems to 3 worlds, as he had received boons. Other gods asked Lord Shiva to solve this issue and save them from Surapadma. The sparks from the third eye of Lord Shiva manifested Lord Subramanya.
Subramanya was born as 6 children. But, Mother Parvati unified Him as a single child with 6 faces. With the divine Vel, Lord Muruga conquered the demon. This fight continued for 6 days, and thus, the puja duration is also 6 days.
